Aspiring Medics - Alumna Meena

This week, we were delighted to welcome back Truro High Alumna and former Head Girl, Meena, to speak at our Aspiring Medics programme! Meena was an extremely active member of the THS community, volunteering as a Maths tutor during her evenings, and was heavily involved with Aspiring Medics as a student. After studying Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Physics at A Level, Meena received a place to study Medicine at Cardiff University.

Now in her Third year, Meena returned to THS to speak to our Senior School girls about what it’s like to be a medical student; what our girls can expect, the kind of studying and exams that take place, and what placement is like. She shared with our aspiring nurses and doctors about her favourite parts of the course, including simulation training and patient interactions, and spoke honestly about the amount of content there is to learn but how rewarding it is as a course. A huge thank you to Meena for coming back to inspire our girls!
