To mark the end of Lent Term, our school community came together at Truro Cathedral for our Founder’s Day Service, celebrating and remembering our Founder, Bishop Edward Benson.

Our guest of honour this year was Lowenna Olver, poet, artist, and alumna of Truro High School. Since leaving in 2021, she has lived in Vienna, developing her German, and has returned to the UK to study a BA (Hons) in English Literature at Durham University. She is currently the Professor Barbara Raw Scholar at Royal Holloway, University of London, completing a Master’s in Creative Writing.

Lowenna spoke about the pivotal role Truro High played in her journey and encouraged everyone to find what they love and follow it. She also shared how her love for the arts - which she credits Truro High as the starting point of her creative exploration - now informs her poetry and illustrations.

The service also featured wonderful readings from students across all year groups, songs from our Prep School choir and Chamber choir, a beautiful solo by Dora (Year 10), and an incredible violin performance by Ellie (Year 12).
