Joining a new school just before the GCSE years can often feel scary but today the decision more than paid off for Year 11 Poppy whose mum declared “we are absolutely over the moon”.
With ten top grade GCSEs now to her name, Poppy is this afternoon re-evaluating what her future may hold and considering more challenging options than she’d previously planned.
“I think she was a bit surprised” said proud mum Lisa. “She did better than she ever imagined she could. She really has thrived at Truro High and I think moving her to the school was the best thing we could ever have done for her. I just wish I could send her brother there too!”
“Poppy joined right at the start of her GCSEs and straight away she found the style of teaching so much better, she formed fabulous friendships and everyone was so encouraging. Deciding to pay for an independent school was a big decision for us in terms of the commitment but I don’t think we could ever regret it. It’s been the best thing we have ever done.”
