Last week, Truro Cathedral was filled with festive joy as our school community joined together for our annual Nine Lessons and Carols Service. We are extremely proud that this service is adapted from an Order drawn up by our school’s founder, E.W Benson, later Archbishop of Canterbury, and has remained largely unchanged since Christmas Eve 1880.
As we gathered in the cathedral, we heard readings from our Head Girl Esme, Deputy Head Girl Mia, Deborah (Year 12), Ava (Year 7), Elizabeth (Year 8), Kellyann (Year 9) and Jemima (Year 11). We also sung carols, and enjoyed beautiful choral performances by our choirs and instrumentalists from across the school. Including solos by Holly (Year 13), Lily (Year 9), Gwener (Year 11) and Morgan (Year 13).
With the Cathedral full of students, alumni, family and friends, it was a truly wonderful evening celebrating the coming of Christmas as a school community. Thank you to all those who gathered with us, and congratulations to our wonderful readers and performers.
We are delighted that our retiring collection in aid of St Petrocs raised £1,304.68 - thank you to all those who donated, big or small. If you would still like to donate in support of St Petrocs, you can find our donation link here:
