Head Girl Team 2024/25 (Deborah, Naomi and Marcy)

We recently sat down with our new Head Girl Team, and asked them to share a fun fact about themselves, their favourite memory of being at Truro High School, and one thing they would like to achieve during their time as part of the Head Girl Team!

Head Girl, Naomi

Studying: Philosophy, Spanish, Latin, English and an EPQ

Fun Fact: I have lived in Cornwall my whole life, and I’ve been at the school now for 6 years!

Favourite memory at Truro High: In Year 9 I was backstage in the play Wyrd Sisters and, before the show, we were chanting our lines all together at the tops of our voices to get ready to perform.

Something you’d like to achieve in your role this year: I’d really like to use my position to build on the inter-year friendships, because community is a really important value to our school.

Deputy Head Girl, Marcella

Studying: Music, Psychology, Biology and an EPQ

Fun Fact: I’ve been playing piano for over a decade, and recently achieved my Grade 8 in Piano Performance.

Favourite memory at Truro High: My best memory at THS is performing at this year’s Dance Show LIVE at the Hall for Cornwall, where I performed a contemporary solo.

Something you’d like to achieve in your role this year: I’d like to use my new role as Deputy Head Girl to initiate more open talks about mental health.

Deputy Head Girl, Deborah

Studying: History, Geography, English

Fun fact: I have recently achieved my lifeguard certification here at school.

Favourite memory at Truro High: My favourite memory at school so far is being part of the backstage crew of this year’s production, Little Shop of Horrors. I learnt a lot, and it was really great to be part of such a talented and hardworking team.

Something you’d like to achieve in your role this year: I really hope to give another boost to the student voice and make even more use of suggestion boxes and things like that.
