We want to encourage all our alumnae to get involved and stay connected and that’s exactly what recent leavers Charlotte Andrew and Fiona McCallum have done. Last weekend they braved plunging temperatures and torrential rain to accompany our Year 10s on their Silver Duke of Edinburgh practice expedition. Here’s what Charlotte had to say about it: “Ever since completing my A levels and leaving Truro High back in 2017, I have tried to remain as well connected to the school as possible. Whether this be talking to Sixth Form students about my experiences going on to study an Engineering degree or by continuing to lifeguard at the school pool whenever I was home from university throughout my studies.”
“I was particularly excited to be invited to help out on the recent Silver Duke of Edinburgh practice expedition. Myself and another lifeguard, Fiona, camped out with the girls down in Porthleven on the second night of their ordeal where temperatures dropped to below zero! We helped the girls unwind after their day of trekking and to prepare for a good night’s sleep ready to do it all again the following day. It’s always a joy to get involved with the girls at the school and to reminisce about my Bronze and Gold expedition experiences from a few years ago!”
