Truro Cathedral was filled with festive joy, as our school community joined together for our annual Nine Lessons and Carols Service. We are extremely proud that this service is adapted from an Order drawn up by our school’s founder, E.W Benson, later Archbishop of Canterbury, and has remained largely unchanged since Christmas Eve, 1880.
As we gathered, we heard readings from our Head Girl, Naomi, Deputy Head Girls Marcy and Deborah, Poppy (Year 7), Abigail (Year 8 ), Violet (Year 9), and Iris (Year 10), as well as our Chair of Governors and Headmistress, Sarah Matthews. We also sang carols, and enjoyed beautiful choral performances by our Prep, Senior and Chamber choirs, performers, musicians and soloists from across the school.
With the cathedral full of students, alumni, family and friends, it was a truly wonderful evening celebrating the coming of Christmas as a school community.
