As part of our Future Ready programme, we were delighted to welcome Kevin Chapman, founder of Make TV Ltd, to speak to a group of our Senior School girls about the dynamic world of television and social media.
A multiple BAFTA award-winner for his work with Formula One and Drive to Survive, Kevin spoke about his career journey, from work experience at Sky News to Broadcast Director, and what it’s really like behind the scenes of live television.
The session was both inspirational and eye-opening, as Kevin spoke honestly about the competitive, and rapidly evolving industry, sparking curiosity and ambition in our budding creatives. It certainly left our students motivated to explore the exciting possibilities of the film and broadcast industry!
As part of our Future Ready programme, led by Philippa Murray, the girls are regularly asked which talks they would like to attend. This academic year, we have received a diverse range of requests, including topics such as Psychology, Architectural and Mechanical Engineering, Sculpting, Astrophysics, Astronomy, Cosmetology, Musical Careers, and Film Making. We have been fortunate in finding the right speakers to deliver inspirational and insightful talks to our students, and we would like to thank everyone who has generously offered their time and expertise so far.
If you would like to contribute by sharing your career path, please contact Philippa at pmurray@trurohigh.co.uk.
