Former pupil Lily was presented with her very own Ethica Diamonds necklace this week – a piece she carefully designed herself.
Laura Basham, an alumna of THS, from Ethica Diamonds kindly offered our Year 11 students the chance to take part in a special competition prior to their GCSES. As part of the challenge, students were invited to design their own necklace. Lily’s winning design, titled ‘Let the Light Through’, is a dainty yet impactful piece with a beautiful story behind it. She chose to include green stones to represent the school colour and used the roses from our school crest in her design. The gaps in the petals “let the light through” to symbolise the school motto “Luce Magistra” – let the light be your teacher. “There are nine flowers in the design to represent the wide variety of subjects and opportunities that THS has given me, which will stay with me for life.”
