It was great to catch up with former PTA chair Mary Hodgson this week and to hear how fantastically well daughters Charlie and Sophie are doing in the equestrian world.
Based in Gloucestershire, Charlie is working for Italian 5* rider Giovania Utiglotti who has just been selected to ride for Italy at the World Championships this summer. Next step, Charlie hopes, will be to take her horse and rider to the 2024 Paris Olympics and having now mastered driving the horse truck onto a ferry, she is more than ready for the task!
Meanwhile Sophie has followed a two year course at Hartpury College in equine business and is pursuing her own competitive dream. Last week she took part in her first 3* Long competition including dressage, an 8 minute cross country at 1.20m and showjumping at 1.25m over 3 days. Having made the step up, she's hoping to consolidate her performance at the higher level this year with a view to having a chance of making the Under 21 team for the European Championships next year.
Good luck girls!
