This week our school community gathered at St John’s Church for a beautiful Service of Remembrance, on Armistice Day. Staff and pupils came together to honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of all who gave so much - and those who continue to serve today.

The service included a welcome from our Head, Mrs Matthew, followed by thoughtful readings from our Senior and Sixth Form girls. We heard a lovely poetry reading from Bead Goddard and Nancy Rom in Year 10, followed by a moving talk from our Head Girl, Jemima. We also had wonderful readings from Amelia Rab, Chloe Wilton and Elodie Turner, as well as a beautiful solo performance of In Flanders Fields by Kerenza. Manu, Amelia and Rosie performed The Last Post with great care, leading us into a two-minute silence for reflection.

On Remembrance Sunday, Head of Prep Mrs Hinks attended the Remembrance Parade with Maisie (Year 11) and Harriet (Prep 5). It was wonderful to see our school represented at such an important occasion.

Across school, remembrance was woven through our activities: in Textiles, pupils hand-crafted poppies in all shapes and sizes, now proudly displayed in our foyer as a poignant reminder of the day. In Pre-Prep, the girls thoughtfully created their own poppies to wear, and in Early Years, our youngest girls explored the meaning of remembrance through creative play, building their own poppies from construction bricks.
