Our pupils were proud to take part in this year’s Hall for Cornwall Secondary Schools Drama and Dance Showcase, performing on the Hall for Cornwall stage as part of the 2026 theme, Kernow Rising!
Dance students worked with Lucia Warden, a Truro High alumna who returned to school to choreograph an original piece titled ‘Love and War.’ The work explored themes of war and peace, using two pairs of dancers to communicate contrast and tension.
Our Drama Club presented a devised performance focusing on prominent Cornish women who have made a lasting impact and who the pupils found inspiring. Through our involvement in the Hall for Cornwall Partner Schools Programme (2025–2027), the group worked closely with theatre practitioner Anna Lovering, exploring ensemble work and elements of Greek Theatre.
Ahead of the performance, Anna commented:
“The girls’ ideas have shone throughout the process and are woven into the final performance. As one Truro High alumna, Vicki Young (BBC Chief Political Correspondent), once said, ‘You can’t be it if you can’t see it.’ Watching this group bring their ideas to life makes it clear - these girls absolutely can be it.”
Well done to everyone involved, and thank you to Anna Lovering and Lucia Warden for their support and collaboration throughout the project.
