As many of you will know, we run a very popular Aspiring Medics programme at THS. The programme is open to girls in years 9-13 and is instrumental in providing girls with the support, encouragement and inspiration, they need to make future choices as well as to be successful in gaining entry to competitive programmes at University.
Aspiring Medics involves girls considering medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the allied health professions, nursing/midwifery, psychology and pharmacy.
At this time of year, I begin the process of booking speakers for the next academic year. Historically, we have been fortunate enough to have had an excellent line up of speakers who have kindly volunteered their time, and this has included some wonderfully supportive parents! If you have a relevant background and would like to volunteer for the upcoming academic year, by delivering a talk on your profession, I would love to hear from you. (The programme runs on Wednesday's 4-5pm in term time, and speakers can talk in person or virtually).
I can be contacted via email: pmurray@trurohigh.co.uk
