Alumna Maya has just completed a year abroad at El Pinar College in Huaraz, Peru.
She had such a wonderful time teaching students from year 6 to 8, immersing herself in a different cultures whilst improving her Spanish.
Besides making new friends in a city in the Andes far away from the capital, Maya also experienced many weekends travelling around the country visiting lakes at high altitudes, the Amazon jungle and the Peruvian desert, giving her insights into many of the social and economic challenges within Peru thus developing her global awareness.
Maya started her year abroad living in Nice as an intern for SuperYachts Monaco. She learnt a vast amount in her 6 months as an intern, learning about the operations of the business and the yachting industry and improving her marketing and communications skills. The Monaco Yacht show was a unique experience which she says she will never forget! Travelling around the south of France and northern Italy allowed Maya to practice and develop her language skills.
"This year has taught me so much and allowed me to travel to places I never imagined and I am very grateful for all the opportunities I have had".
