Truro High Sixth Former Jennifer freely admits that she used to find the prospect of speaking to strangers pretty terrifying. Now she has no such fears and is in much demand as a Level C netball referee around the county.
A talented netball player herself, Jennifer is also an experienced hockey player, turning out regularly for Penzance.
Yesterday Jennifer achieved 3As in Biology, Maths and Physics, as well as a Grade A in her EPQ. She will now head off to Loughborough University to read Sports Technology.
Jennifer said: “I’m am so happy and so grateful to my teachers. I’ve grown so much in confidence during my time here at school and things that used to scare me like standing up and talking in public are no longer any kind of problem.”
Proud mum Kathryn praised the school, saying: “It’s been a fantastic experience for her. The sports are there, the support is there, the academic strength is there – it’s just so well-rounded and has been the perfect environment for her to develop and grow.”
