Truro High Sixth Former Lauren has been so busy rehearsing for her next play at the Minack Theatre that she barely had time to get nervous about opening her A level results yesterday.

Yesterday, Lauren was all smiles, getting the news she wanted and guaranteeing her place to read Classical Studies and Drama at Royal Holloway in London.

Lauren has taken full advantage of the many opportunities on offer at Truro High both as an actor with lead roles in ‘Lord of the Flies’ and ‘Sister Act’ and as a leader, growing her skillset by running clubs for younger students.

Out of school, she’s a key member of the Minack Musical Theatre Academy and will be taking to a variety of stages around Cornwall soon for the Minack Acting Academy’s touring production of the Athenian tragedy Antigone.

Opening her results today, Lauren said: “I just feel relieved to get on to my next step and to know where I am going. I love acting and Classics so for me the course at Royal Holloway will be the best of both worlds.”

Proud mum Clare added: “The school has nurtured her and enabled her to successfully transition to the next stage of her life and that is all you can ask of a school.”
