‘Practice makes progress’ is what we always tell our students and our 2023 GCSE results show just that with some girls achieving up to three grades higher in every exam they took than national baseline cognitive ability testing had predicted.
Value Added is a key factor for many parents when it comes to choosing a school and we are incredibly proud that Truro High is always among the top schools in the UK in terms of the amount of progress its’ pupils make.
Headmistress Sarah Matthews said: “Once again I could not be more proud to lead a school where girls thrive. Initial figures show the absolutely phenomenal Value Added with some girls getting up to three grades higher across all twelve different subjects that they have studied. Whilst we delight in the fact girls have achieved up to twelve Grade 9s, we also delight in those who have worked their socks off to move from a Grade 4 to a Grade 7.”
